Our committee members and officers insurance policy provides low-cost cover for committee members and officers who are authorised to act on behalf of a club, league or society in the running of its business. Irrespective of whether such persons are unpaid volunteers or paid employees, or the company is limited in its liability or not, actions can (and often are) directed towards those individuals. In such circumstances an action can personally bankrupt an official. Indemnity limits for this cover are available from £50,000 to £5,000,000 and some of the sources of potential claims are as follow:

• Employment related issues
• Corporate manslaughter (failing to ensure that the organisation’s personnel do not come to any harm)
• Defence costs for official investigations such as HM Revenue & Customs and DTI.
• defence costs for Environmental pollution
• Counterclaims, where a defendant names all of the organisation’s officers or committee in response to an action.
