MANN BROADBENT NORTHUMBERLAND COLTS CUP FINAL

The 23rd May 2011 saw the Northumberland Colts cup final take place between Cramlington Juniors and Newcastle City Juniors -Milan at Whitley Park Benton.

The weather was very windy and the lads did tremendously well in keeping the ball in play. The first half saw Cramlington Juniors taking an early lead and ending the first half 2-0 up. Newcastle City Juniors-Milan came storming back in the second half to equalise and push the match into extra time.

Both teams played skillfully during extra time and the match had to go to penalties. Cramlington Juniors who were the current holders of the cup were then victorious in the penalty shootout and secured the Mann Broadbent Cup once again.

Taking reasonable steps to ensure safety of playing surface (and document your procedures)
An Insurance policy would defend a club in a case like this, without insurance it would cost the club or the individual club officials thousands.
Also despite lots of scare stories this is a good example of the law being sensible
