Recover from flooding

When the flood waters eventually subside, then the hard work of the clean up begins. Whether it’s your home, your business, your club, the key consideration is safety.

There are, however a few other things to think about.  For example, always obey the emergency services and don’t enter your property until it is safe to do so. Of course, a primary action is to contact your insurer and/or broker to get the wheels in motion for your claim, if you have flood insurance. 

Something people don’t often realise, is that when you’re taking wet contents from your building, don’t dispose of them until authorised by your insurer.

And once the water has gone, and you are starting your repairs, do consider flood resilient materials that will make recovery easier should the floods return.
