Oscar’s Worcester Walkers

On 21 September 2019, an intrepid band of walkers is taking on a 27 mile sponsored walk inspired by local Worcester schoolboy Oscar Saxelby-Lee to support the charities that helped him: DKMS and Anthony Nolan.

Sarah Price, who is organising the charity walk, said: “This is a cause very close to my heart. My daughter has been Oscar’s classmate since reception, and when his dire situation came to light I realised how many people, including me, hadn’t heard of DKMS or the Anthony Nolan; I wanted to help change this. Raising funds, awareness and getting more people to register as a stem cell donor will really make a different in saving people’s lives. This walk, with donor drives on the day, helps tick all of these boxes.”

Mann Broadbent is supporting the walk by providing insurance cover for the event.

Duncan Sutcliffe, director, Mann Broadbent added: “When Sarah asked us for insurance advice, we were more than happy to help. Offering the cover as a donation to the event was an obvious step and we were delighted when Sarah accepted.”

Although Oscar’s Worcester Walkers team is now full, they need marshalls to support them on the journey from Worcester Royal Hospital to Birmingham QE, So if you can help on 21 September, please get in touch with Sarah via Oscar.worcester.walkers@gmail.com.
