Outdoor sports to resume in March
Today the Vaccines Minister, Nadhim Zahawi, confirmed that outdoor sports could resume again in England from 29th March, with the priority being outdoor sports. No details were given regarding gyms or fitness centres. He announce this morning on LBC that “Outdoor sports – tennis, golf, outdoor organised team sports, grassroots football – will go back on 29 March.”
Duncan Sutcliffe, director, Mann Broadbent, commented: “This news will be welcomed by individuals, clubs, and organisations who have been unable to participate in sport during the latest Coronavirus lockdown. We look forward to more detail being released in due course and anticipate both the Government and the respective sporting governing bodies will provide advice regarding how to return to sport safely.
“In the meantime, we urge all those involved with organising outdoor sports to review their insurance cover in preparation for welcoming clients, colleagues, volunteers, and participants back.”
