What is coasteering insurance?
If you organise coasteering activities, then coasteering insurance will assist you if you are accused of doing something that causes an injury or damage; it can also cover losses if your property is damaged or stolen.
Without insurance, you will struggle to defend yourself if you are accused of negligence or if sued following an injury or accident. If your property or kit is damaged or stolen, then without insurance, you will have to find the money to cover the costs of replacement or repair and lost income.
The bottom line is that if you are providing instruction, you need to ensure that you are covered for the advice you give. You’ll see some basic types of insurance we’d recommend, but depending upon the scale of your business, your activities and what is important, you may need to consider other types of insurance as well, for example, travel insurance, motor insurance, health insurance, boat insurance, etc. If you are a limited company, you should also consider insuring directors and management against claims made against them individually.
We know every business is different and can advise what insurance you do and do not need.
What insurance do I need to consider?
Every club, organisation, and race is unique, so no ‘one size fits all’ insurance plan or solution exists. Aside from coasteering insurance, there are some other recommended insurance options for your club, such as:
Public Liability
Personal Accident
Cyber Insurance
Legal Expenses
Kit & equipment
Employers Liability
Event Cancellation
Sports travel insurance
