Why does a clay pigeon club or shoot need insurance?
Insurance can cover if someone is injured or property is damaged or stolen. If you already have insurance for other activities, they will unlikely cover shooting so that you may require a separate policy. Insurance can also be a legal requirement.
A small clay pigeon club or one off-shoot might require public and employer liability if there are employees or volunteers. In addition, if the club owns equipment and guns or has a clubhouse, these will need protecting.
A shooting coach or instructor may want to consider a specific coach policy giving public liability and professional indemnity – for more details, take a look at our coaches page, or just give us a call, as we’d be happy to chat through what you do, and do not, need.
What insurance do I need to consider?
Every club, organisation, and race is unique, so no ‘one size fits all’ insurance plan or solution exists. Aside from clay pigeon insurance, there are some other recommended insurance options for your club, such as:
Public Liability
Personal Accident
Cyber Insurance
Legal Expenses
Kit & equipment
Employers Liability
Event Cancellation
Sports travel insurance
